On the afternoon of November 24, in Hanoi, the Ministry of National Defense held a press conference to introduce the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2022. Major General Nguyen Viet Hung, Deputy Commissar of the General Department of Defense Industry; Major General Le Xuan Sang, Deputy Director of the Department of Propaganda and Training, General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA); Colonel Pham Manh Thang, Deputy Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of National Defense co-chaired the press conference.
With the approval of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of National Defense organizes the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2022 (Viet Nam Defence 2022) from December 8-10 at Gia Lam Airport (Phuc Dong, Long Bien, Hanoi).
The exhibition aims to strengthen and expand international cooperation and foreign relations in defense, build trust between Vietnam and countries around the world; promote and disseminate the capacity, technological potential, weapons and equipment produced by the Vietnamese defense industry to international friends and domestic people; create conditions for countries, companies and domestic and international enterprises to introduce and display products, and seek opportunities to expand cooperation in the defense industry.
At the same time, the exhibition contributes to strengthening international cooperation in the defense industry, diversifying cooperation channels for purchasing, receiving, and transferring technology to produce technical equipment and logistics equipment to meet the requirements of the armed forces; learning about the development trends of weapons and technical equipment in the world to propose, select, purchase, produce, and improve weapons and equipment for the army and seek opportunities to export defense products.
In addition, the Exhibition also aims to accumulate experience to organize periodic exhibitions every two years, including the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition in 2024 on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army.
The Organizing Committee said that up to now, 45 delegations have officially registered to visit Vietnam and attend the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2022; these are guests of the Minister of National Defense, Deputy Minister of National Defense, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Chief of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, Commander of the Navy, Commander of the Air Defense - Air Force Service and Director of the General Department of Defense Industry...
The exhibition area has a total area of over 50,000m2, including indoor and outdoor displays. Up to now, 170 domestic and foreign units and enterprises from 30 countries in the ASEAN region, Asia, Europe, and America have registered to have booths to display combat vehicles, technological solutions, weapons, equipment for the navy, army, air defense-air force, cyber warfare, and logistics and technical equipment.
In the exhibition area, the Organizing Committee also arranged a cultural space, a culinary space, and an exhibition area of "Economics-Defense in the Digital Age" to display typical milestones of the Vietnam People's Army in each historical period associated with socio-economic development; connecting with the Cyberspace Exhibition.
Every day, the exhibition opens from 9am to 6pm with main activities such as: Opening ceremony; welcome performance by the Vietnam People's Army's Air Force and Special Forces; seminars, signing, exchanges, meetings between partners; exhibition introducing culture, country, people and Vietnam People's Army; art performances; low-altitude fireworks display...
According to information from the organizers, people can visit the exhibition for free on December 9 and 10. Specifically, on December 9, people can visit from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. On December 10, people can visit all day./.
