On the morning of October 11, in Hanoi, the Conference on Building the Project for the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 took place under the chairmanship of Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of National Defense, Head of the Steering Committee for Building the Project. Attending the event were Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Head of the Exhibition Organizing Committee.

The conference listened to reports from relevant agencies and units of the Ministry of National Defense on the preparation and development of the Project. Based on the reception and explanation of comments from agencies and units, the General Department of Defense Industry - the Standing Agency of the Steering Committee has completed the second draft of the Project.
The draft consists of 3 parts: Legal basis, viewpoints, objectives; world and Vietnam's experience with International Defense Exhibitions; content of the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition Project in 2024.
According to the draft project, the exhibition is expected to have a scale of about 250 standard booths, including many types of weapons and technical equipment from domestic and foreign corporations and companies in the defense sector. The exhibition is expected to include activities displaying weapons, technical equipment, dual-use products, welcoming activities, demonstrations by the air force, special forces in coordination between military forces and sideline activities such as cultural and artistic programs, bilateral contacts, seminars, etc.
At the Conference, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien requested that the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 should aim to increase the number of booths, the number of participating international enterprises and the number of new and modern weapons and equipment on display to raise the level of the event held in Vietnam. The scale, type, time and activities of the event need to be carefully studied, in accordance with the practical situation, in order to promote and introduce to the world the products and brands of the Vietnamese Defense Industry, the strength of the Vietnam People's Army, and introduce the culture, country, people and military history of the country.
Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien requested agencies and units to promote a sense of responsibility, accept opinions, speed up the construction progress, complete the Project and preparation work and related tasks, including inviting partners, businesses and international guests, planning the site, and dividing functional areas at the Exhibition location...
Activities within the framework of the Exhibition must be developed and scheduled in accordance with the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army, to facilitate organization, reception, foreign affairs, etc. After completion, the Project will be submitted to the Central Military Commission Standing Committee for consideration and approval.
