CNQP&KT - On the morning of February 20, the Singapore Airshow 2024 officially opened at the Changi Exhibition Center (Singapore).
Attending the Singapore Airshow 2024, the delegation of the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam was led by Lieutenant General Pham Truong Son - Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army. Also participating in the delegation were leaders, commanders and representatives of leaders and commanders of a number of units under the Ministry of National Defense. On the side of the General Department of Defense Industry (GDDI), there were Lieutenant General Nguyen Manh Hung - Party Secretary, Political Commissar of the GDDI, General Director of the GDDI Economic and Technical Corporation (GAET), Director of Factory Z113, representatives of a number of functional agencies of the GDDI and units.
The Singapore Airshow, held every two years (since 2008), is Asia's largest air show, showcasing the world's latest and most advanced technologies used in the air force. The Singapore Airshow 2024 takes place from February 20 to February 25 with the participation of 1,000 companies from more than 50 countries around the world. Leading the way are Western giants such as Airbus, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, alongside competitors from China (such as COMAC, AVIC); Israel (such as Israel Aerospace Industries and Rafael Advanced Defense Systems). However, Russian companies such as Russian Helicopters and Irkut will not attend this event this year...
Companies participating in the Exhibition will display products, introduce technologies, and provide services in the fields of aircraft and aircraft parts manufacturing; airport services; combat equipment and training; aviation and unmanned engineering; transportation, information and control systems; defense systems and equipment; in-flight services and software development; maintenance and repair; security and control; leasing and financing.
At the Exhibition, the delegation of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony to open the Exhibition; visited the booths and product display areas of a number of large enterprises and corporations in the world; watched flight demonstrations performed by the Air Forces of Singapore, India, the United States, South Korea, China, Indonesia, Australia and a number of international civil airlines. Within the framework of the Exhibition, the delegation had meetings with a number of partners to discuss issues of mutual interest and bilateral cooperation. At the bilateral meetings and contacts, Lieutenant General Pham Truong Son respectfully thanked the Ministries of National Defense and the Armies of the countries for sending high-ranking delegations to attend the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2022 and hoped that the Ministries of National Defense, Armies, and defense enterprises of the countries would continue to support and attend the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024).
For the General Department of Defense Industry, the Exhibition is a good opportunity to expand cooperation with partners, especially the host country Singapore; through trade partners to import machinery and materials for production, and at the same time export semi-finished and finished products of weapons, ships, boats and some economic products to the region and the world./.
