CNQP&KT - On the morning of June 11, in Hanoi, the Defense Industry Economic and Technical Corporation (GAET) held the Emulation Congress for the period 2019-2024.
Major General Nguyen Viet Hung, Standing Member of the Party Committee, Deputy Commissar of the General Department of Defense Industry (GDDI) attended and directed the congress. Also attending were representatives of a number of functional agencies of the GDDI; representatives of departments, offices, agencies, and units in the Corporation and outstanding collectives and individuals.
According to information at the Congress, in the period of 2019-2024, the Party Committee, commanders, cadres, workers and employees of GAET Corporation have comprehensively, synchronously, systematically and qualitatively implemented emulation and reward work (TĐKT) and the Determined to Win emulation movement (TĐQT), bringing practical results, contributing to the successful completion of assigned tasks. Notably: The TĐQT movement has directly contributed to building the Corporation strong in politics, ideology, ethics, organization and staff; building a team of cadres, party members and employees with strong political will, high determination, ready to receive and complete all assigned tasks. Regarding the implementation of national defense tasks, the Corporation has closely coordinated with investors, partners and customers to seek, create, establish new contracts and actively implement signed contracts; Proactively advise the General Department of Defense Industry and the Ministry of National Defense to select partners, quality sources of goods, ensuring prestige in providing materials, equipment, and transferring technology lines for major projects. At the same time, comprehensively deploy defense research and production tasks to ensure progress and quality. Regarding economic tasks, the Corporation has proactively and effectively implemented the following tasks: supplying industrial explosives, industrial production activities, transportation business, vocational training - labor export and trading, materials, goods, and other services... Every year, the Corporation has excellently completed the assigned plan and had stable growth, with average growth rates reaching over 7%/year. In particular, in 2023, the main targets of the Corporation, such as: production value increased by 62%, revenue increased by 13.7%, average income increased by 35.5% compared to 2019.
In addition, the Corporation has promoted scientific research, promoted initiatives, and effectively applied technical improvements to production. In the past 5 years, the Corporation has had 16 projects at all levels (including 1 State-level project; 3 projects at the Ministry of National Defense level; 7 projects at the General Department level); 37 initiatives and technical improvements, contributing to reducing production costs and improving productivity and product quality, bringing billions of dong in benefits to the unit. Through the TDQT movement, many outstanding collectives and individuals have emerged. From 2019 to present, the Corporation has been awarded: Second-class Military Exploit Medal (2022), Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister (2021); Emulation Flag from the Ministry of National Defense (2019, 2020), General Department of Defense Industry (2021) and many other Certificates of Merit and Certificates of Merit. In the past 5 years, the Corporation has had 484 collectives and more than 3,000 individuals awarded.
In the coming time, GAET Corporation will focus on the emulation target of improving the efficiency of production and business activities; improving the capacity of consulting and implementing key projects of the Ministry of National Defense and the General Department of Defense Industry. Actively seeking cooperation opportunities, promoting the export of defense and economic products. Actively participating in defense foreign affairs activities and defense exhibitions in the country and the region. Successfully completing the task of defense research and production to ensure progress, quality and efficiency. In addition, the Corporation will promote the business of industrial explosives, drilling and blasting services, complete blasting and import-export business, transportation activities, vocational training, labor import and export, etc.
Speaking at the Congress, on behalf of the Party Committee and the General Department of Defense Industry, Major General Nguyen Viet Hung praised and congratulated the achievements of GAET Corporation and the advanced models achieved in the past 5 years; at the same time, he requested Party committees and commanders at all levels to continue to promote education and propaganda work, raise awareness and responsibility, build motivation and determination to compete properly for cadres, employees and workers, so that the spirit of patriotic emulation truly becomes the driving force and self-awareness of each individual and collective, contributing to the completion of the political tasks of the unit. The emulation movement of the Corporation must closely follow political tasks, orienting the emulation goals towards the implementation of production and business tasks, implementing investment projects, scientific research work, promoting initiatives and technical improvements; maintain strict discipline, comply with the law, discipline, administrative reform, digital transformation, corporate governance, ensure policies, jobs, and income for workers. Major General Nguyen Viet Hung also requested that GAET Corporation need to link the TĐQT movement with the patriotic emulation movement, the emulation movement of sectors and organizations; focus on discovering, nurturing, building, and replicating advanced models, associated with discovering, nurturing, and promoting talents in building and developing the defense industry.

At the Congress, the Party Committee and the Command of GAET Corporation commended and awarded 16 collectives and 42 typical advanced individuals in implementing the TDQT movement in the period 2019-2024.
