On the afternoon of October 25, at the Koh Pich Island Convention and Exhibition Center (Phnom Penh Capital - Kingdom of Cambodia), the opening ceremony of the Vietnam - Cambodia Economic - Defense Products Exhibition Fair 2023 (VIDEX 2023) took place.
Senior Lieutenant General Vu Hai San, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of National Defense chaired the opening ceremony. Attending the opening ceremony on the Vietnamese side were Comrade Nguyen Huy Tang, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Kingdom of Cambodia; Comrade Do Thang Hai, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade; Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army; Lieutenant General Nguyen Manh Hung, Secretary of the Party Committee, Political Commissar of the General Department of Defense Industry; representatives of heads of military regions, Border Guard Command, and agencies under the Ministry of National Defense. On the Cambodian side were General Neang Phat, Permanent Secretary of State of the Ministry of National Defense; Mr. Samheng Bora, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Trade; General Ly Kosal, Secretary of State of the Ministry of National Defense; General Mao Sophan, Commander of the Army; Heads of functional agencies of the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Trade; Cambodian units and enterprises participating in the Fair. Ambassadors and Consuls of the countries: Brunei, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Singapore.
Taking place from October 25 to 29, the VIDEX 2023 Exhibition Fair is organized by the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam in coordination with the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Commerce of the Kingdom of Cambodia. The exhibition fair aims to implement the Party and State's policy on strengthening international integration and defense diplomacy; contributing to the effective implementation of the Protocol on defense cooperation for the period 2020-2024 and the Cooperation Plan for 2023 between the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam and the Ministry of National Defense of the Kingdom of Cambodia. This is also a political and social activity organized on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the National Day and the establishment of the Royal Cambodian Army (November 9, 1953 - November 9, 2023).
VIDEX 2023 attracts nearly 150 Vietnamese and Cambodian units and enterprises to participate with over 200 typical booths in the following industries: technology machinery, robots, specialized drones, industrial equipment, agricultural machinery, fertilizers, plant varieties, textiles, footwear, electronics, household appliances, construction and building materials, handicrafts - fine arts, consumer goods...
The Defense Industry Economic and Technical Corporation, led by Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thanh Hai - Deputy General Director of the Corporation, led and directed the working delegation. With active and thoughtful preparation, the unit participated in displaying at the booth a number of industrial explosive models and introducing the images and functions of the Corporation.
