General, Minister of National Defense Phan Van Giang discussed and shared experiences with special forces participating in performances for the exhibition.
At Gia Lam Airport (Hanoi), General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense chaired an inspection of preparations for the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024.
According to VNA, after watching the performance in preparation for the opening ceremony of the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024, speaking at the inspection session, General Phan Van Giang acknowledged and highly appreciated the determination of the Organizing Committee and relevant agencies, units and forces, who have actively and proactively deployed preparations to serve the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024.
General Phan Van Giang highly appreciated the efforts and coordination of the officers, soldiers, artists, actors... and the participants in the performance; at the same time, he reminded the Organizing Committee to try to re-edit the script to properly demonstrate the strength and solidarity of the Army.
The United States and Russia will display C130 and A10 aircraft, armored vehicles, combat vehicles, missile complexes... at the 2024 Vietnam International Defense Exhibition.

Emphasizing that there is not much time left until the opening ceremony of the Exhibition, General Phan Van Giang requested all participating forces and related units to make every effort, "working day and night to think about what else we can do tomorrow to do better than the day before", so that all people in Vietnam and international friends attending and following the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 will see that, not only in combat but also in peacetime, the Vietnam People's Army will forever be worthy of the title of Uncle Ho's soldiers.
At the opening ceremony of the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024, there will be a spectacular performance with the theme "Vietnam - Peace - Cooperation - Development", thereby sending to international friends Vietnam's meaningful message about peace, cooperation and development.
With the participation of more than 2,000 officers and soldiers from agencies and units inside and outside the Army, the Opening Ceremony will last about 1 hour, including 30 minutes for the art program and 30 minutes for the main ceremony.
The highlight of the Opening Ceremony was the welcome flight of the Vietnam Air Force, martial arts performance by the Special Forces and dog training by the Border Guard.
The number of aircraft on display at this exhibition will be greater than at the first Vietnam International Defense Exhibition in 2022. It is expected that 10 SU-30MK2 aircraft will fly in a 3-4-3 formation and 10 helicopters will fly in a 3-4-3 formation at the opening ceremony of the exhibition.
In the art section, the forces will perform 4 acts including: "Vietnamese Bamboo" performed by 500 special forces soldiers; 165 soldiers performing drums, 200 soldiers performing flags. "Vietnam - Country - People" with a medley of folk songs from the three regions from the Northwest, the Northern Delta to the Central Highlands performed by 200 professional dancers and 200 soldiers. "Colorful Vietnam" with the songs: "Hello Vietnam", "Lac Hong Bloodline", "Our Army, the Heroic Army" performed by the gun dance team of the Army Ceremonial Group with male and female choirs, dance troupes and 200 soldiers. "Aspiration for Peace - Connecting Five Continents" includes the songs Aspiration for Peace, Heal the World performed by 200 dancers, 600 special forces soldiers, and 200 soldiers.
After the art part is the ceremony part expected to have the participation of leaders of the Party, State, Army, domestic and international guests.
Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 will take place from December 19 - 22, 2024 at Gia Lam airport (Hanoi).
The exhibition has a total area of over 100,000 m2 with an indoor exhibition area of 15,000 m2 (double that of the 2022 exhibition) and an outdoor area of over 20,000 m2.
At the Exhibition, in addition to the display areas of domestic and foreign units and enterprises, the Organizing Committee arranged the Vietnam Cultural Space area, the "Achievements in building the People's Armed Forces, building the National Defense" exhibition area to introduce the traditions and achievements of 80 years of building, fighting and growing of the Vietnam People's Army, 35 years of the National Defense Day; introduce economic - defense products, digital transformation results of military agencies, units and enterprises; introduce typical and characteristic products of ministries, branches, localities, organizations, associations, economic groups and enterprises.
In addition, within the framework of the Exhibition, there will be exchange programs, promoting cooperation between agencies, units and enterprises; enterprises with enterprises; seminars on military technology; activities to introduce economic achievements combined with national defense...
The exhibition will be open to the public for free from 1:30 p.m. on December 21 to 3 p.m. on December 22./.
