The exhibition scale has a total area of over 50,000m2, with indoor and outdoor display area of over 20,000m2.
To date, more than 170 domestic and foreign units and enterprises from 30 countries in the ASEAN region, Asia, Europe, and America have registered to have booths at the exhibition.
At the exhibition, domestic and international defense enterprises displayed and introduced combat vehicles, technological solutions, weapons, and equipment for the navy, army, air defense - air force, cyber warfare, and logistics and technical equipment.
Vietnamese products displayed and introduced at the exhibition include products researched and manufactured by agencies and units of the Ministry of National Defense (General Department of Defense Industry, Air Defense - Air Force, Navy, Military Technical Academy, Vietnam - Russia Tropical Center, Military Telecommunications Industry Group and trading and service companies of the Ministry of National Defense) and the Ministry of Public Security (Department of Security Industry).
In the exhibition area, the organizers arranged a cultural space, a culinary space, and an exhibition area "Economy - National Defense in the Digital Age" to display typical milestones of the Vietnam People's Army in each historical period associated with socio-economic development; connecting with the cyberspace exhibition.
Colonel Pham Manh Thang - Deputy Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of National Defense - added that the exhibition will be open from 9am to 6pm for 3 days from December 8 to 10. Colonel Thang also said that the exhibition will be open to the public on December 9 (2pm to 6pm) and December 10 (all day).
The organizers will organize many activities at the exhibition, including the main activities: the opening ceremony expected to be attended by the Prime Minister and visit the exhibition; the Vietnam Air Force and the Vietnam People's Army's special forces performing to welcome the exhibition.
The exhibition aims to strengthen and expand international cooperation and foreign relations in defense, build trust between Vietnam and countries around the world; promote and disseminate the capacity, technological potential, weapons and equipment produced by the Vietnamese defense industry to international friends and domestic people; create conditions for countries, companies and domestic and international enterprises to introduce and display products, and seek opportunities to expand cooperation in the field of defense industry.
Strengthen international cooperation in the defense industry, diversify channels of cooperation in purchasing, receiving, and transferring technology to produce technical equipment and logistics equipment to meet the requirements of the armed forces, study the development trends of weapons and technical equipment in the world to propose, select, purchase, produce, and improve weapons and equipment for the army, and seek opportunities to export defense products.
Along with that, accumulate experience to aim to organize periodic exhibitions every two years, including the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army.
