(Border Defense) - On the morning of March 26, at the Headquarters of the Ministry of National Defense, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Minister of National Defense chaired the Steering Committee Meeting to develop the Project to organize the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition in 2024.
After many months of active implementation, the Exhibition Organizing Committee has proactively prepared and approved the Action Plan of 4 sub-committees: Content, Reception, Security Operations, Communications. Some specialized plans such as: Training liaison officers, interpreters, plans, training, performances for the Opening Ceremony; urging and deploying tasks to relevant sub-committees, agencies and units; organizing meetings of the Organizing Committee, working with sub-committees; inspecting the preparation work of some units; promptly adjusting plans and tasks to ensure closeness to the actual situation; sub-committees, agencies and units deploying tasks on schedule.
The general planning of the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 has been determined in the Exhibition Organization Project. The General Department of Defense Industry has coordinated with the consulting unit and the design unit; the overall decoration of the Exhibition.
Compared to 2022, the 2024 Exhibition is proposed to be organized on a larger scale in terms of indoor and outdoor display areas. In addition to displaying weapons, equipment, and technology researched and produced by the Vietnamese defense industry, compared to 2022, the exhibition list is expected to expand the product range for accessories, military uniforms, military supplies, and logistics equipment.
The Organizing Committee has also arranged an exhibition area for the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army and a cultural space with a total area of about 8,000 square meters.
In the coming time, the preparation work will continue to be implemented synchronously; in which, we will continue to closely follow and promote the work of inviting defense industry enterprises from other countries to participate in the exhibition, complete; submit the plan for organizing the exhibition of weapons and technical equipment; complete the welcome flight training scenario and report to the Head of the Organizing Committee for approval; complete the investment procedures, basic construction, select contractors according to the correct process and procedures to promptly deploy; receive the handover of the site and organize construction.
It is expected that from August 2024, relevant sub-committees, agencies and units will select personnel, train necessary skills and knowledge for the workforce serving at the Exhibition. Proactively review and implement other contents on schedule according to the Plan of the Organizing Committee and the Sub-committees.
