On the morning of January 10, 2025, in Hanoi, the General Corporation of Defense Economics and Technology (GAET) held a Conference to summarize the tasks of 2024 and deploy the tasks of 2025. Colonel Phan Chien Thang - General Director of the Corporation chaired the Conference.
Attending the Conference were Colonel Nguyen Anh Tuan, Party Committee Secretary, Chairman of the Corporation; comrades in the Party Committee Standing Committee, Head of the Corporation; leaders and commanders of agencies and units under the Corporation.
In 2024, GAET Corporation focused on directing the successful completion of assigned tasks, performing well in corporate management and administration, ensuring capital and cash flow for production and business activities. Military trade and defense foreign affairs activities continued to be maintained stably with enhanced and expanded cooperative relationships. Production of defense products and other commercial activities continued to be promoted. Industrial explosives business continued to promote its strengths and was the core business of the Corporation, bringing in large revenue and profit to the Corporation. In particular, from December 19-23, 2024, the Corporation successfully completed its mission as a commercial representative of the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 and was recognized and awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Minister of National Defense. The total revenue of the Corporation reached VND 8,400 billion, an increase of 27.3% compared to the 2024 plan and an increase of 30% compared to 2023. Profit reached VND 69 billion, equal to 101.5% compared to the plan and an increase of 10.3% compared to 2023. The material and spiritual life of employees and workers increased with an average income of VND 16,774 million/person/month, equal to 105.5% of the annual plan, an increase of 12.3% compared to 2023. Organize well the commemorative activities, focusing on the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory, the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army, and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day. Synchronously deploy all aspects of work to build a comprehensively strong Corporation "Exemplary, typical", build a clean and strong Party Committee of the Corporation; The political and ideological situation of the whole Corporation is stable, with internal solidarity and unity.
Concluding the Conference, Colonel Phan Chien Thang affirmed: In 2024, the Party Committee and the Command of the Corporation led and directed the entire General Department to strive and comprehensively complete its tasks, many tasks were completed excellently, achieving higher results than in 2023. The General Director acknowledged and commended the efforts of agencies and units contributing to the completion of the Corporation's key political tasks; at the same time, pointed out a number of limitations and shortcomings that need to be focused on overcoming in the coming time. Regarding the direction and tasks for 2025, the General Director emphasized: The entire Corporation needs to promote the spirit of innovation and creativity, successfully complete all assigned tasks, focusing on the Resolution on leadership in implementing the tasks in 2025 of the Party Committee of the Corporation. Maintain relationships and cooperation with traditional customers; expand new markets. Lead and direct agencies and units to proactively overcome difficulties; Well perform the tasks assigned by the Ministry of National Defense and the General Department of Defense Industry. Well organize production and business activities, promote the business of industrial explosives, maintain traditional markets, develop export markets; provide materials and equipment for factories in the General Department to ensure safety, quality and efficiency; Proactively seek and create contracts in import-export business, domestic business, economic production, transportation activities, vocational training activities, labor import and export and other joint venture activities. Complete the production and business plan for 2025; ensure jobs and stable income for employees. Strive to achieve and exceed the production and business plan for 2025 with a growth rate of 8.0%. Focus on building a Corporation strong in politics, organization, force and military work. Arrange and consolidate the apparatus and organization according to the Prime Minister's Project 66 on restructuring military enterprises, period 2021 - 2025; actively carry out digital transformation, administrative reform, apply the quality management system according to ISO 9001-2015 standards and complete key tasks; build a comprehensively strong Corporation "Exemplary, typical"... The General Director requested that the entire Corporation focus on making breakthroughs in "Corporate governance - Upholding principles - Research and development - Debt settlement - Safety and efficiency", comprehensively completing the 2025 targets and tasks with higher results than in 2024.
At the Conference, the Head of the Corporation awarded Certificates of Merit from the Minister of National Defense to 01 collective and 04 individuals, Certificates of Merit from the General Staff to 02 collectives and 08 individuals, Certificates of Merit from the General Department of Defense Industry to 01 collective and 10 individuals; Certificates of Merit from the Corporation to 05 collectives and 31 individuals for their outstanding achievements in participating in performing tasks at the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024; awarded the Emulation Title of Excellent Labor Collective to 06 collectives; Title of Advanced Labor Collective to 08 collectives and party organizations and party members with high achievements in 2024.
Also at the Conference, Colonel Nguyen Anh Tuan - Party Secretary, Chairman of the Corporation, Chairman of the Emulation and Reward Council launched the emulation movement "Determined to Win" in 2025 with the theme "Democracy, solidarity, discipline, determination, creativity, Determination to Win". Representatives of leaders and commanders of agencies and units signed the emulation covenant, expressing the spirit of solidarity and high determination to strive for achievements to celebrate the anniversaries of major national holidays such as the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, National Reunification, 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and to welcome the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term towards the 14th National Party Congress./.
