On the morning of February 25, Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam, member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of National Defense, inspected the progress of the project to research, design and manufacture military vehicles at Factory Z179, General Corporation for Defense Industry Economics and Technology (GAET), General Department of Defense Industry.
Also attending were Lieutenant General Ho Quang Tuan, Director of the General Department of Defense Industry; leaders and commanders of a number of functional agencies of the Ministry of National Defense.
Implementing the direction of the Head of the Ministry of National Defense on unifying the plan to implement the task of researching, designing and manufacturing military vehicles, the General Department of Defense Industry has organized the implementation of the project, including 2 phases: Researching, designing and manufacturing military vehicles according to the configuration and technical and tactical features approved by the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army; implementing production and testing on the basis of completing the technical and tactical features of the product in phase 1.
During the project implementation, the General Department of Defense Industry has been active, proactive, and urgent in parallel, designing, manufacturing, and adjusting and perfecting the design, ensuring quality and progress. Up to now, the project has basically completed manufacturing and testing, meeting the requirements according to the technical and tactical performance indicators.
Speaking at the inspection, Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam praised the results that the Project Management Board and agencies and units have achieved in the past time, especially the efforts, overcoming difficulties, and completing the tasks well of the officers, employees, and workers of Factory Z179.
According to Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam, the current period has many good opportunities to develop the defense industry. Development of the defense industry needs to be proactive, self-reliant, self-reliant, dual-purpose, and modern.

To successfully carry out the tasks in the coming time, Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam requested the Project Management Board to continue to closely coordinate with relevant agencies and units to implement the manufacturing of military vehicles in the next phase, ensuring quality and progress; research, calibrate and complete the technical equipment system on the vehicles in accordance with approved targets.
Coordinate to thoroughly resolve difficulties and problems in the process of performing tasks; organize evaluation, acceptance and testing at agencies and units before mass production according to regulations.
