On the morning of November 22, the Party Committee of the General Department of Defense Industry (GDDI) held a Conference to review 10 years of implementing Resolution No. 806-NQ/QUTW of the Central Military Commission on "International integration and defense diplomacy to 2020 and the following years".
Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, attended and directed the conference. Lieutenant General Nguyen Manh Hung, Secretary of the Party Committee, Political Commissar of the General Department of Defense Industry chaired the conference. Also attending were Lieutenant General Ho Quang Tuan, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Director of the General Department of Defense Industry and comrades in the Party Committee, Heads of the General Department; representatives of leaders of a number of agencies under the Ministry of National Defense, the General Staff; leaders and commanders of agencies and units under the General Department; GAET Corporation led by Colonel Phan Chien Thang - General Director of GAET Corporation attended the conference.
Presenting the central report at the conference, Major General Luong Thanh Chuong, Deputy Director - Chief of Staff of the General Department, stated: Implementing Resolution No. 806-NQ/QUTW of the Central Military Commission on "International integration and defense diplomacy to 2020 and the following years" (referred to as Resolution 806); The Party Committee of the General Department of Defense Industry has led and directed agencies and units to carry out international cooperation and defense diplomacy in depth with many innovations. The General Department has expanded the content and forms of cooperation with countries, such as: building memorandums of understanding and cooperation agreements on defense industry; transferring technology for manufacturing and repairing weapons, equipment, and products serving defense and security; training human resources; exchanging experiences in organizing, managing the state and laws on defense industry. Effectively implement investment projects, receive advanced and modern technology transfer from abroad, thereby mastering the technology of manufacturing advanced and modern weapons and technical equipment (VKTBKT). In particular, initially implement the transfer of production technology abroad and export some semi-finished products and details for weapons production, participating in the global supply chain of VKTBKT. Trade promotion activities and expanding export markets have achieved certain results, especially in shipbuilding for export. Participate in exhibitions of VKTBKT researched and produced by the defense industry, thereby expanding cooperation opportunities with other countries, while contributing to enhancing the position of Vietnam's defense industry in the region and internationally.

Speaking at the conference, Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan highly appreciated and acknowledged the outstanding results of the General Department of Defense Industry and agencies and units in international integration and defense diplomacy. The Deputy Chief of the General Staff requested that in the coming time, it is necessary to continue to perform well the foreign affairs and defense industry cooperation tasks according to the policy of multilateralization and diversification of defense industry cooperation relations. Promote trade promotion activities, realize the possibility of exporting military equipment and technology produced by the defense industry. At the same time, improve the organization, improve the capacity and qualifications of agencies and specialized officers in advising on the implementation of international cooperation and defense diplomacy activities; do not disclose state secrets in the process of contacting, exchanging and working with foreign partners.
At the conference, Colonel Phan Chien Thang - General Director of GAET Corporation and delegates discussed the results of 10 years of implementing Resolution 806 and proposed and recommended many related contents to continue to perform well the tasks of international integration and defense diplomacy in the field of defense industry.
In the coming years, GAET Corporation is determined to continue to thoroughly grasp the guidelines and policies of the Party, State, Central Military Commission, Ministry of National Defense, General Department of Defense Industry on international integration and defense diplomacy; promptly propose appropriate leadership policies and solutions; deploy and organize strict and effective implementation in all fields, focus on innovating and improving the capacity of specialized agencies and officers working on military diplomacy, advising leaders and commanders in foreign affairs activities to meet the requirements of tasks in the new situation.
Concluding the conference, Lieutenant General Nguyen Manh Hung, Party Secretary and Political Commissar of the General Department of Defense Industry, affirmed: In the 10 years of implementing Resolution 806, international cooperation on defense industry has become an important content in international integration and defense diplomacy, contributing to enhancing defense potential and protecting the Fatherland early and from afar. Regarding the goals and solutions for implementing international integration and defense diplomacy in the coming time, the General Department of Defense Industry recommended to the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense to direct competent agencies to continue studying and perfecting legal documents related to international integration and defense diplomacy; import and export activities of goods under the management of the Ministry of National Defense to create a legal corridor for implementation...
